Stitchfinder: Knit Trim: Bobbles

Skill level: Intermediate 

Bobbles are usually knitted into the fabric but they can also be suspended from the edge for a completely different effect. 

Method 
Note: To cast on 2 sts at beginning of 5th row: k in next st but do not slip it off, slip new st from right-hand needle to left-hand needle, then work the next st in the same way. 
Cast on 5 sts. 
1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rows Slip 1, k 4. 
5th row (RS) Cast on 2 sts as above, (k 1, 
p 1, k 1, p 1, k 1) in nearest of these sts, [turn, k 5] 5 times, turn, slip 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th sts one at a time over first st, working first st k 1 tbl bind off 2 sts, k 4. 
6th, 7th, and 8th rows Slip 1, k 4. 
Repeat 1st-8th rows. 
Bind off.
